The label for Kinsip Dark Waters Rum might have convinced me to try it. I can never resist a design inspired by Art Deco. Their luxurious, heavy-bottomed bottle and nautical theme certainly complement their diverse range of spirits. Dark Waters Rum has an inviting, rich aroma: malted caramel with hints of maple syrup and oak. To me, this drinks like a rye whiskey. It has a familiar spicy kick with undertones of brown sugar and cherry. While not overly complicated, it's smooth, full-bodied, and has a comforting note of baking spices. The finish is medium and leaves a slight stickiness, like you've just bitten into a candy apple. 8.25/10
