Kilchoman Coull Point

This is the second sample from a seven-part Kilchoman tasting set my wife gifted me for my birthday. After tasting the Saligo Bay, the Coull Point's smoke seemed rounder and more like BBQ on the nose. I also detected notes of baked pears and moss. Similar to the Saligo Bay, the smoke on the palate is somewhat subdued, and it's a bit sweeter than expected, likely from sherry influence, with a touch of saltiness. The body is richer than the Saligo Bay. Both Saligo Bay and Coull Point are fine drams. I'm uncertain about repurchasing Saligo Bay, but I would readily buy Coull Point.

A smoky and slightly salty nose, like a match flame. On the palate, it enters dry and smoky; it's potent but very good. Citrus notes are present, but I can't identify them precisely. The finish is pleasant and vanilla-scented, though not unforgettable.

Nose: reminiscent of the machir bay style. Grilled pears, barbecue smoke, pineapple, peach, apricots, and seaweed. The taste is quite sweet and saline, with fruit accompanied by smoke enveloping everything. This is a serious risk for me, as I adored it from the very first taste.

Initially, light peat smoke, fruity candy, and toasted nuts. Then, cool smoke and sweet apple. The finish is fairly brief, but the smoke intensity increases from the start.

A young but surprisingly pleasing spirit! I'm very glad this was a gift!

This is quite enjoyable. The spicy finish is very intense, but I don't mind it at all.
