Kilchoman 16 Year

Exceptional, with flavors of honey, smoke, mango, bacon, dark chocolate, cinnamon, mocha, and a hint of citrus. Nose: Peach, lemon custard, mango, honey, smoke, sea spray, banana, almond, coconut, fig, and chocolate-covered bacon. Palate: Iodine, mango, raisins, honey, dark chocolate, grapefruit, peach, coal, dates, smoke, key lime pie, dark chocolate, banana, molasses, and mocha. Finish: Dark chocolate orange, Manuka honey, mango, bacon, iodine, ginger, walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut, and mocha.

A sample from the distillery. It's decent but lacks anything distinctive. Contains smoke, peat, some spice, and fruit on the finish.

Enjoyable, but the maturation is excessive. This brand excels when its earthy character is prominent.
