Kilchoman 100% Islay (8th Edition)

Slightly peated, I'd say perfectly peated! Fresh and light on the nose, with a subtle peatiness. On the palate it's honeyed and fruity, particularly apricot. Sweet and velvety finish. The setup: Glencairn glass, rested for about 5 minutes, no water added. Bottle opened one and a half months ago. On the nose, a nice, subtle Kilchoman peat. On the palate, citrus, peat, and sherry spice. On the finish, oaky and peaty with a good medium length.

Notes: toasted or burnt caramel, peated. Light and citrusy. Oily charcoal taste, grainy finish but still warm. Dark chocolate. Adding water improved it. Like a city named Uigedail. Nose: 7 Flavor: 6 Mouthfeel: 7 Balance: 6

Aroma: Immediate smoky smell. Body: Not overly complex but tastes smoky with hints of orange and sweet grass. Finish: Medium length and a bit sharp.

Green, saline, with traces of toffee. It brings to mind specific moments on Scotland’s moors. I love it.

Rich, sweet vanilla, Islay, earthy, and nutty, with smoky, velvety peat.
