About this bottle

Kilbeggan Triple Cask Irish Whiskey is a rebranding and repackaging of the former "Kilbeggan Single Grain" whiskey. The spirit and its proof remain unchanged, but the new name emphasizes the three types of casks used in its maturation: ex-bourbon, ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry, and virgin American oak barrels. It has no age statement and is bottled at 86 proof. A global launch is anticipated starting in January 2022.

Doreen Crosby 4.3

A rich aroma of shoe leather, vanilla, oak, and subtle fruit notes. A robust body with spicy cinnamon, vanilla, and caramel, along with spiced oak and light fruit notes. The mouthfeel is silky smooth, leading to a gentle, smooth finish of vanilla, oak, and spice. Tasted neat in a rocks glass.

Carolina Dasilva 3.8

The triple cask version is considerably superior to Kilbeggan's standard offering. It's definitely worth the slight price increase. Its more robust flavor profile earns it a spot on my list of highly recommended mid-tier Irish whiskies.

Aaliyah Gould 3.5

I don't adore the taste (nor dislike it) but it certainly has more intricate flavor. Very intriguing; I would need to consume it a few more times to fully understand my opinion on this one.

Wilda Ragland 4.5

Smell: Vanilla, oak, caramel, butterscotch Taste: Vanilla, complex, spicy notes: cinnamon, malty

Robert Simpson 3.5

A more mellow version of Kilbeggan.
