Total Score: 4.25. Non-chill Filtered. Non-colored. Nose: Slightly alcoholic buzz upon opening (gone after about 2 weeks). Subtle spicy flavors that penetrate deeply. A hint of grassy rye-like flavor, not overpowering, slightly heavy. Rich, smooth vanilla, honey, and light caramel. A faint cool, piney aroma drifts by. As the liquor evaporates in the glass, a dried fruit aroma emerges, blending with the grassy notes, resembling a Korean wild strawberry scent. Palate: Light and spicy. Hot and harsh. Definitely spicy, savory, and nutty. Good body and a fairly thick liquid feel. While new flavors rarely emerge on the palate, this whiskey clearly presents an oaky taste. Leaves a spicy finish with a slight, non-overpowering tongue tingle. Finish: Smooth oaky flavor with lingering vanilla and floral notes. A faint spicy, hot sensation persists.
