Kentucky Owl Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch #3 is a sourced product from an unidentified distillery. Following two years of aging in new, charred American oak barrels, the whiskey undergoes further maturation in a new American white oak barrel with a char 4 treatment. This particular bottling is from barrel #16, with only 206 bottles produced as a single barrel release.

Improves with every tasting. Heavy on the heat with oak, earth, leather, moss, and vanilla. An incredible value. Add an ice cube and you get more tobacco and leather along with cinnamon and red wine. Long finish that ends dry. In a good way. Like sunshine after a flood.
Really good, spicy but not overwhelming. Longest finish I've experienced as of 4/17/17. Very complex. Capital cellars $170
Tasted 4/8/17 Capital Cellars, Frankfort, KY. Quite enjoyable, but the cost was a barrier at $40 for a taste and $170 per bottle.
