An intriguing vodka, though the olive concept feels a bit cliché, in my opinion. It's not overtly flavored like olives, which adds to its credibility. Nevertheless, it carries subtle hints of the spicy, fruity, and herbal notes of olives while maintaining the neutral character of traditional vodka. It's smooth enough to sip but delicate, so a splash of tonic and a citrus wedge are sufficient for a refreshing drink.

About this bottle
Kástra Elión, a family-owned vodka, is distilled from hand-picked olives originating from Greece's Nafpaktos region. These olives are combined with grains before distillation, lending structure rather than primary flavor. The distillate is diluted with spring water from Mount Taygetus's Crystalline Rock and rested for 30 days before bottling at 40% ABV. It became available in February 2022.
