Batch 14: Having tasted this whiskey before, I debated re-tasting it. However, given how well it performed against the other 11 ryes in our tasting, I felt it deserved another endorsement. Sweet citrus aroma, buttery smooth, viscous texture, and a cinnamon finish. Simply outstanding. After this tasting, I'm upgrading it to a solid 5.0! Sampled this after visiting the distillery. A significant upgrade from the standard offering of this spirit. The aroma presents notes of rye spice and fruit, so potent it's almost perceptible as flavor. It possesses a pleasant, thick texture on the palate, delivering a typical rye taste. The spicy finish lingers pleasantly. Quite delightful. The batch we tried was 12, with a proof of 122.8. We bought a bottle from that batch and one from batch 14 (119.8 proof), following advice from our tour guide.

This is batch #14 of the cask strength offering. The aroma and palate are quite similar to batch #12, which we sampled at the distillery. However, enjoying it from a Yeti Lowball during a camping trip in Versailles State Park, roughly 1.5 hours southeast of Indianapolis, makes it slightly more pleasurable. Cheers!
