About this bottle

Johnnie Walker's original blended malt, the Pure Malt 15 Year, was launched in 1997 and subsequently renamed Green Label in 2004. This whisky combines malts from Cragganmore, Linkwood, Talisker, and Caol Ila. Examples bearing this initial label are uncommon and often mistaken for the more widely available Green Label, which was retired in 2012 but returned in 2016. It is bottled at 43% ABV.

An amazing whiskey and a perfect illustration of a vatting where the components create something better than the sum of their parts. Each single malt is notable, but the blenders at JW have truly crafted something extraordinary. It's no surprise they reinstated it. The expert reviews are accurate. Highly intricate. I discover something new each time. And at approximately $40 in Japan, it offers outstanding value.
