I was informed this would be very good but potent, and they were correct. The nose suggested grape and a sweetness akin to sweet tarts. The palate starts sweet, then the spices emerge, and it quickly becomes intense. There's a note I can't quite identify but find pleasant. Perhaps a touch of ethanol is present. And it certainly lingers on the mid and back palate. It's unusual for something spicy to also taste sweet, but that's my experience. The finish is more heat and just persists for a while. It's not for the sensitive drinker and lacks the smoothness of a Stagg, yet I quite enjoyed it. The grape flavor didn't carry over to my palate, but the sweetness did.
