This Jefferson's Ocean bottling features a wheated bourbon mash bill that journeyed aboard a ship. The voyage began in Savannah, GA, passed through the Panama Canal, and continued into the South Pacific, visiting Tahiti, Australia, and the Philippines before returning to Savannah. It is bottled at 90 proof.

Nose: Faint alcohol, caramel, vanilla, and banana bread. Palate: Sweet, buttery, subtly peppery, with a touch of oak tannins. Finish: A pleasant peppery burn, salty, and sweet. A commendable pour with an interesting backstory. While I question whether aging at sea impacts the bourbon, the concept is enjoyable.
Drinking it neat. Pleasant aroma. A bit salty at the end with a very slight burn on the back of the tongue. Mild and easy to drink. A little sweet, but truly light. Not exceptional, but not bad.
Sharp aroma. A lovely initial brightness that mellows and softens as you taste and process. Delightful smoky, spicy, and caramel notes throughout.
Unremarkable and average. The flavor is somewhat weak, with no distinct characteristics standing out.
Quite smooth with pleasant sweetness, notes of caramel and mint, a hint of cinnamon, and a medium-length finish.
A strong, sharp, almost spicy start gives way to a soft, mellow, wheated finish.
