About this bottle

The Jameson Deconstructed Series, launched in 2016, aims to explore how different production elements influence the flavor of the core range. Master Distiller Brian Nation identified three key taste components in Jameson: Bold, Lively, and Round, and selected specific vatted whiskeys to highlight each. Jameson Lively focuses on the contribution of grain whiskey to Jameson's signature profile. It is triple distilled and bottled at 40% ABV, available exclusively in Global Travel Retail.

Anita Gale 3.0

My final assessment of Jameson's "Deconstructed Series" is for this "Lively" version, which turned out to be the least impressive of the three. "Round" was fantastic, "Bold" was intriguing, and "Lively" is simply dull. That's an accurate summary. Bottled at 40% alcohol by volume. Nose: It smells like cooking herbs and plants from the bottle. Like a faint, crushed basil, perhaps. There's a savory aroma, akin to bacon or pork. A hint of butter. It evokes the scent of a kitchen during meal preparation. Herbal. Grainy. Barley. Yeasty. Fresh, spicy ginger. After a few sips, the aroma becomes sweeter. Cinnamon bubble gum emerges. On the palate, it's lackluster. Grainy. Red and yellow apples. Gentle. Perhaps a slight saltiness. Unlike the other two expressions, the finish is the weakest aspect. Fruity, very faint. Lacks spice and depth. A fresh, short, unexciting finish. Overall, I don't consider this a bad drink; it's just not engaging. It's too easy to consume, too monotonous. You could probably drink it endlessly, but you get the impression it's not really whiskey, that it won't get you intoxicated. It's like drinking juice. Scored 62 out of 100.

Simultaneously lemony and sweet. Quite enjoyable for its very affordable price. Vanilla becomes more prominent with each sip. It's not highly complex and has a medium finish.

Rocco Caron 2.0

From the new Jameson 3-pack (bold, lively, and round), this is the one I like the least.

Reuben Goldstein 2.5

It benefits from just a drop or two of water.

Carlo Doyle 3.0

Honey. A medium finish with a slight burn.

Carolyn Ordonez 3.0

It's acceptable, but not a first choice.
