The nose is fruity and sweet. Remarkably complex for the price. It starts with a slight sourness, like dried fruit, followed by intense ripe, dark fruit notes, malty sweetness, and then significant spice (excellent!). A vanilla note or aftertaste emerges at the very end. Delicious, particularly for its youth!! A fantastic single malt! Especially considering the cost. It's hard to find better at this price point. It sells for the price of a more expensive blended Scotch but tastes much superior (I dislike the grain whiskey taste in blends). I believe this is among the best value whiskeys available, period, whether single malt or not. Very enjoyable and takes you on a journey. Definitely recommended!

Nose: Orchard fruits (apricot, lemon), floral, spicy oak, a bit harsh (needs time to breathe), almond, slightly immature, with underlying sweetness. Vanilla. This expression is more floral and fruity, less sherry-influenced than the 10-year version. Palate: Less rich, malty sweetness, becoming peppery toward the end, nutty, a bit harsh, immature. Finish: Red apple, spicy, oaky, dry, bitter, lingering for minutes.

Remarkably complex and mature for its young age. The sherry influence is clear, with notes of stewed plums and walnut on the nose and palate. My primary critique is the low alcohol content, as a higher proof would have resulted in something truly magical. An excellent whisky.

I was surprised by its smoothness; overall, a genuinely pleasant discovery in an eight-year-old spirit. I hesitated to buy it because it was only eight years old. I'm happy I decided to get something new.

Intense. Acceptable. Unremarkable, but perfectly fine to drink neat. A significant downgrade from the 12-year expression, however.
