Jackson Purchase Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch No. 1 Full Proof

Enjoyable. A nice classic aroma with just a hint of astringency. The taste follows the aroma...just a little bit of bite but again, nothing unpleasant. The finish is warming and a standout feature of the drink. A good initial batch from them. Certainly better than the new 4-year-old full proof from Willett and less expensive. If you have a choice, choose this one over the Willett.

Smell: Cocoa, dirt notes, burnt sugar Taste: Sweetness, dominant rye, mouth-coating vanilla, cinnamon and clove. Verdict: Outstanding and one of a kind. Lingering finish. The abundant rye works well. The spirit is thick and bursting with taste. I've never encountered anything similar. Perhaps the weather in western Kentucky has an effect. Great job!
