WhiskeyLive Dublin 2018 This producer is a small outfit with just a 10-year-old single malt and a NAS blend currently available, both of which are sourced (likely from Midleton, as their site indicates distillation in Southwest Ireland). They've been distributing their whiskey for about four years in Ireland and the eastern US, primarily in Boston and New York. I don't recall the nose or taste being particularly special (just the usual vanilla and spice), and the finish was rather brief. What attracted me to their booth to speak with the owner's son was hearing they were planning to establish a distillery on Achill Island in western Ireland. My father's family is from there, and their distillery will actually be situated on the grounds of the defunct Achill Brewery, a recent, short-lived venture run by some distant relatives of mine. They recently had stills delivered from Speyside, and my hope is that as an island distillery facing the immense Atlantic, they will eventually craft a whiskey with a distinct Irish island character.
