Irish Mist Honey Liqueur

Appearance: A transparent amber-gold without any particles. Smell: Notes of clove, cinnamon, and vanilla within spiced honey, alongside a hint of sweet citrus and a profound, warm floral scent resembling rose perfume. I suspect this is heather, but without prior experience of heather essence, I cannot confirm. A subtle whisky aroma lingers. Taste & Mouthfeel: A sweet, warming, and gently spiced entry, predominantly honey-flavored with undertones of vanilla and mild botanical spice. The consistency is syrupy, almost overly sweet. I recall this liqueur from the seventies, and I believe it vanished from stores by the mid-eighties. In the sixties and seventies, it was presented in a charming squat bottle with a blue-grey label, and later, I remember a more ornate teardrop-shaped container. It's unfortunate that neither of the original packaging designs was brought back. It has been far too long to definitively state if this is identical to the original product, but I have a sense it's slightly altered. At that time, it was marketed as a smoother, less intense alternative to Drambuie, and that description still holds. However, I feel this contemporary iteration lacks some depth. If you have a preference for sweetness and honey liqueurs, this is a fine selection, and enjoyment seems likely. Those who dislike sugary liqueurs should avoid it. For a more intricate profile with less sugary density, I suggest Amaro Montenegro. The only other honey liqueur I've sampled recently is Stumbras Krupnikas Medaus, and I rate this one similarly in quality, hence the matching score. "Good": 83/100 (3.5 stars)

I'm a big admirer. It could be seen as the gentler Irish whiskey counterpart to Drambuie.

Reminds me of a lighter version of Honey Jack.
