Invergordon Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whisky Co.)

To date, this is the oldest whiskey I have ever sampled. Unfortunately, it wasn't particularly good. This is a single grain spirit, with only 538 bottles produced by an independent bottler known as "that boutique and whisky company". Bottled at 47.7% alcohol by volume, with a burnished color. The nose was somewhat muted and uninteresting. Notes of butter, salt, dry grasses, quite salty, reminiscent of a Talisker, Snickers chocolate, and old banana. The aroma was actually the most appealing aspect, yet it wasn't remarkable. On the palate, there are chocolate-like flavors: brownies, butter, chocolate dry cake. A subtle lime note, very spicy with clove and pepper. The finish is medium and straightforward. Adding water significantly improves it. Abundant chocolate and butter notes on the palate. I strongly advise adding a couple of drops to enhance this dram. Without water, this dram scores 70 out of 100, and with water, it reaches 72 out of 100. For over $150 per bottle, this one is not worth considering.

Tastes like a confection from candy land, featuring notes of caramel, cotton candy, marshmallow, citrus, pepper, vanilla, mango, corn, and floral hints.
