Supplies of mature single grain whiskies are diminishing quickly, making genuine finds rare. The Good Spirits Company has secured one of these treasures, and it's quite reasonably priced. The aroma combines notes of custard, almonds, and sweet popcorn with hints of sawdust, ginger, and chamomile. The palate is dominated by coconut cream, vanilla, and honey, with an increasing spicy pepperiness. Adding water is advised to temper the initial intensity. The finish is fresh and oak-influenced, with notes of icing sugar, lemon zest, and green tea fading away. For a grain whisky of this age, this Invergordon is excellent!
