Sweet with a slight perfume note (similar to the standard Four Roses bottle), floral and summery, with some general bourbon characteristics. On the palate, there's oak, that same perfumy note again, vanilla, a very sweet and candy-like taste, with a long-lasting oaky finish.

About this bottle
Master distiller Henric Molin created this rye at the Spirit of Hven Distillery in Sweden. Molin's mash bill consists of 78.6% rye, 11.9% wheat, 4.8% corn, and 4.8% other grain. The fermentation period is divided, with half the batch fermenting for 96 hours and the other half for 168 hours. It undergoes double distillation and ages for a minimum of 3 years in new American oak barrels that have been heavily charred. Each bottling combines 42 casks to achieve the final product. The whisky is not chill-filtered, and no color or sugar is added. It has been available in the US since the summer of 2019.

To someone accustomed to American Rye, this Swedish curiosity initially seemed rough but soon became appealing. It's complex and challenging, not something I would suggest to individuals new to high-proof liquor.
