About this bottle

Hussong's Reposado Tequila is produced in Jalisco, Mexico, from 100% blue weber agave. It matures for 5 months in oak barrels that previously held bourbon. This tequila is double-distilled and hand-bottled in clay jugs, sealed with a cork, carrying on the tradition of Juan Hussong's handcrafted tequila from Ensenada, Mexico, known as "The Cinderella of the Pacific."

I'm trying this along with several others for research. I like this tequila and had the opportunity to taste it before buying. I read a comment below that mentioned 'buttery,' and I detected that immediately upon tasting again. It's a nice reposado, with an attractive bottle and a good price.

Noe Villegas 4.0

The aroma is sweet, grassy, herbaceous, with a hint of soap. The body is light with a very smooth finish. It's clean, well-balanced with mild sweetness. The initial taste is fresh cut grass, raw agave, and thin. Mid-palate offers light caramel then fades. No significant lingering taste.

Victor Stclair 4.5

One of my favorite tequilas around the $30 mark. Features a medium alcohol warmth with a subtly sweet profile and pleasant afternotes. Difficult to find in stock, I always grab a few bottles when available. I enjoy it served neat with ice.

Darrel Mauldin 4.0

The aroma is very light, with hints of hay and buttered popcorn. The taste is smooth with honey throughout, sweet, black pepper, and very minimal burn at the end. A solid purchase.

Stacy Davison 2.0

Among the least enjoyable tequilas I've tried. I feel like I just paid for the bottle's appearance. The flavor was quite sharp and brought to mind a mixto.

Karly Duncan 4.5

Agave, char, tobacco, chocolate, buttery caramel corn, brown sugar, nuts, cinnamon.
