An upfront aroma distinct from other ryes I've sampled. It starts sweet, akin to butterscotch, then transitions to a potent pepper note in the aftertaste. While not my favorite at first, I've come to appreciate it more.
This was the most unusual rye I had ever experienced. After approximately a year, it softened into the more typical rye grain characteristics.
Lots of spice; cinnamon, caramel, and smoke on the nose. This is my first time tasting whiskey!
Full of flavor. Charred sugar. Caramel. Rich.
