Citrus and perfume on the nose with a subtle note of chocolate. A decent amount of burn and lingering sensation adds to the full flavor. Chocolate is the main focus in the first sip with black pepper rounding out the experience. I prefer this over other Hochatown products. Ice softens the burn and lingering sensation and makes this more enjoyable and more likely to be an evening sipper.

About this bottle
This straight bourbon is crafted from a mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley, and aged for a minimum of three years. It is selected from specific barrels within the warehouse to achieve a flavor profile distinct from the distillery's primary Straight Bourbon. This bourbon is also bottled at a higher proof of 104.

I hadn't encountered this bourbon before, and a friend shared a bottle. Trying new bourbons is always a pleasure for me. While my reviews are typically detailed, I'm simply not a fan of this particular pour. It doesn't justify the high cost, has a disappointing taste, and a brief finish. Unfortunately, this would likely end up being poured down the drain.
