Hochatown Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon

Tasted a little at a gathering with people I know. Among the limited number of distilleries in Oklahoma that actually produce their own spirits. I wanted to enjoy this more than I did. It presents a pleasant aroma, reminiscent of apple and even apple brandy. The initial taste offers indistinct bourbon characteristics, then unfortunately, a significant amount of tannic wood. The very drying conclusion isn't ideal. Points awarded for the aroma and initial taste, but the finish is so dry that awarding this more than average marks is difficult.
