A very decent budget Highland malt. The aroma is young and simple at first, but opens up after a few minutes with distinct notes of honey and nutmeg. The palate is smooth and pleasantly sweet. The finish is short but satisfying. Definitely a superior malt to McClelland's Highland.
For those seeking an affordable scotch that delivers the typical Highland taste without the expense of major brands, this is the one. It offers the best value for taste from a Highland I've encountered so far. Woody notes, a little toffee, and quite smooth.
