Nichole Mccall 4.0

Dale Earnhardt Jr's High Rock Vodka (Produced by Sugarland Distilling in Gatlinburg, TN. It's distilled 7 times and filtered through sugar maple charcoal, a nod to Tennessee's Lincoln County Process). Sugarland is recognized for its wide variety of Moonshines, both plain and flavored (like Banana Pudding), and a growing list of Celebrity Endorsements (Chipper Jones, Cole Swindell, Dale Jr, and some well-known "Appalachian Moonshiners"). *AROMA: Floral with hints of citrus, sweetness, and ethanol. *TASTE: The taste is smooth with a light sweetness (reminiscent of the aftertaste of a pink SweetTart) and a touch of char (from the sugar maple charcoal filtration). A little bite on the finish from the 88 Proof, leaving a light, tingly mineral aftertaste. *CONCLUSION: As celebrity endorsements go, Dale Jr. is a solid choice. I appreciate the higher 88 Proof (a subtle reference to his car numbers during his Cup career) and the tribute to Tennessee tradition with the sugar maple filtration. Bonus points for being under $20. I prefer my vodkas to have some character for sipping neat or on the rocks, while still being neutral enough to perform well in savory, tart, or sweet cocktails. This meets all those criteria.
