[9.30.23] First and foremost, a massive thank you to High Bank for supporting Pelotonia Gravel Day. It was a fantastic ride for an incredible cause – I'm proud every year to push through these rides and make a difference. I was even happier to return to the finish line and be welcomed with some whiskey and a country music band. It's a straightforward whiskey for me, and I don't have any issues with that. I had similar thoughts about Watershed the first time, and it has since become something remarkable. This distillery is next in line. I've seen their barrel room, and they have promising things in development. I'll need to seek out the barrel-proof version because this expression is more suited as a reliable mixing base than a sipper.

This is a sourced whiskey. That's fine, but it's only been aged for two years. It has a high rye content to compensate for its youth. The distillery offers a pleasant atmosphere with good food and drinks. I'm curious to see what they produce once they age their own spirits.
A mash bill high in rye provides a subtle pepper spice at the beginning, leading to a smooth and sweet palate experience overall. It has been aged for at least two years.
It tastes like weak, sugary tea. It's young, not balanced, and costs too much. You could get something superior from a less expensive bottle on the shelf.
I prefer the barrel proof expression, but this isn't bad. I've had better for significantly less.
A classic corn whiskey with a good addition of rye to give it character.
