Hickory Hill Kentucky Straight Bourbon

The aroma consists of caramel and oak, followed by brown sugar and cinnamon. The taste begins sweet with notes of honey and vanilla, some oak and corn, then finishes with heat. I spent $35 on this and felt it was a bit expensive for this Bourbon; I believe $19 would represent better value. Anything more feels like diminishing returns. If you enjoy sweet bourbon, you'll like Hickory Hill. My overall impression is that it's average; it's not the best I've had, and it's certainly not the worst. However, I can honestly say I don't think I'll purchase another bottle, as there are numerous other superior Kentucky bourbons at this price point or lower. However, there isn't much information on this Bourbon regarding its actual distillation and aging location. I suspect it's sourced from another distiller in Kentucky.

Highly complex, with abundant spice on the initial taste and finish. The caramel is somewhat understated, but it's sweet without being excessive. Excellent flavor for the price.

Smooth and sweet with caramel initially, then warms up. Tastes cheaper than its price tag. Would be acceptable at $19.

A very creamy finish. Very subtle on the initial taste. Easy to drink. Good value for the cost.
