I've previously tried the Hibiki 12 and 17 year old versions, and there's a subtle similarity, much like milk relates to cream. The last time I bought this Japanese Harmony version of Hibiki, its price had doubled from its previous reasonable offering, making it overpriced for its quality. I recently acquired Hibiki 21, which has spent 21 years maturing into something truly exceptional, but this unaged varietal is a pale comparison to the finished product.

About this bottle
The Hibiki Japanese Harmony (2018 Holiday Bottling), launched on October 1, 2018, commemorates both the holiday season and the 30th anniversary of the Hibiki brand. Its packaging draws inspiration from traditional kimono patterns and features the tabane-noshi, a Japanese symbol of shared happiness and celebration. This blend comprises malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita distilleries, and it was first made available in 2015.
