Bobbie Barney 3.3

A blend of 80% grain neutral spirits and 20% bourbon, crafted and bottled in Texas by southwest spirits. The nose presents cigar box, tobacco, sour apple, and bourbon scents. On the palate, it's like a cigar box and oak lead, evolving as it sits, with grainy notes, vanilla sweetness, and some bourbon fruitiness. It's remarkably smooth. The closure is a wooden top with a synthetic cork. A very acceptable blended whisky for the cost, priced at $7.99 plus tax, earning a B- grade. Revisited on 7-20-22: The aroma is solely vanilla, reminiscent of eggnog. The taste is vanilla, sweet with a touch of sourness, quite one-dimensional. The cost is now $10.99 plus tax, with a D grade. This was likely an older bottle or an off batch, featuring a plastic closure instead of wood. The color was much lighter, and it neither smelled nor tasted like the initial experience. Ultimately, the bottle was discarded out of disappointment. Note: the current Henderson's website displays a different label, identifying it as vanilla flavored whisky.

I'm giving it a 3 for its worth. It's far from the best whiskey I've had, but considering the price, I anticipated much worse. It has strong vanilla notes and is very sweet, almost as if vanilla extract was included. Drinkable, but not exceptional. However, if you're on a budget and not aiming to impress, it suffices.

I knew it was inexpensive when I purchased it. I overlooked the detail on the back label stating it's composed of 20% Bourbon and 80% neutral grain spirits. It contains abundant vanilla and is quite sweet, but that's essentially the extent of its profile. It almost resembles a flavored alcohol more than a genuine whiskey.

Piper Hearn 4.0

This whiskey has a vanilla presence, but it's very subtle, which is nice. It's my everyday choice for an Old Fashioned. Honestly, that's mostly because of its low price. I like it, you might not, but for $8 for a 750mL, it's worth trying if you see it.

Isla Reyna 1.3

I purchased this due to its very low cost and positive reviews. It is indeed sweet, but also quite harsh. Spending $2 more on Early Times would provide the same sweetness with a significantly smoother finish.

Herbert Mcgrath 3.8

Described in the store as the finest whiskey you haven't encountered. The aroma is heavy with vanilla; the taste is smooth and tastes like creamy caramel.
