About this bottle

Established in 1997, Hellyers Road represents an Australian endeavor. Though initially unfamiliar with distillation, founder Mark Littler's background in the dairy sector provided transferable skills. The distillery utilizes Inverness peated malt to craft some of Australia's premier peated whiskies, with the Slightly Peated variant enhancing their growing portfolio.

Marie Meyers 2.5

On the nose the smoke will hit you right in the face, but as you pull away, you might just catch some citrus. To be honest the taste wasn’t quite for me, though I can see its appeal. Citrus sweetness, some malt in there, and a thick layer of smoke that holds strong minutes later. If you love a heavily smoked whisky, this one is definitely worth a look.

This was unexpectedly enjoyable. I typically dislike peat, but this is understated. It reminds me of a Speyside scotch with just a subtle hint of smoke. Sweeter fruit notes were prominent. Well-balanced. I would certainly drink it again.

Beautiful smoky peat, leading to notes of citrus and then vanilla. Perhaps some honey mixed in with the smoke as well.

Emilio Chatman 5.0

My top choice for a peaty Single Malt.
