I appreciate the style of this spirit; it has fresh cereal notes, is very vibrant, and possesses a subtle flavor that is uniquely characteristic of its origin. The 12-year-old expression is the peak and a superb example of a highland style dram! I love it.

About this bottle
Hellyers Road Distillery offers its oldest expression, a single malt matured for 12 years in American oak casks. The whisky undergoes a distillation process of two and a half times. While 12 years may seem brief, whiskies from Tasmania and Australia often mature faster due to the climate's effect on the wood. This bottling is not currently distributed in the US.

The nose is very heavy on vanilla, with a subtle hint of lemon and orange at the finish. The palate offers a mellow sweetness of honey that leads into a spiced lavender finish. I'll pass.
A very thick, oily pour! Overwhelmingly so, in my estimation, to the point of being nearly undrinkable.
Citrus notes, reminiscent of yuzu Palate: Smoky
My first Tassie whisky… quite enjoyable.
