Hard Truth Sipes' Double Oaked Smoked Rye

Unusual aroma. Somewhat like sweet sawdust and leather. Likely a result of the Rum barrel aging. The taste is sweet caramel with a bit of spicy heat. Overall, it's smooth with a slight burn in the middle of the palate. Leaves me uncertain if I truly enjoy it. The flavor profile is certainly an odd combination for a bourbon.

The aroma is reminiscent of Jack Daniels. Slightly smoky, charcoal mellowed. Better on the nose than the palate. Not much lingering heat.
