Hamiltons Speyside Single Malt

I took a chance on this bottle I found at Total Wine and I was pleasantly surprised. The nose has flowers, raisins, toffee, and hazelnut, but the primary aroma is a sweet cola scent. The palate is very sweet with rose water and dried fruit. You can tell this scotch is younger than other Speyside single malts. You detect more flavor from the distillate and less from the cask compared to something like Macallan. The finish is medium in length and spicy. I compared this directly with Macallan double cask and it has some similarities, but it is definitely younger and sweeter. This bottle is a good value for a NCF and natural color scotch, and a great option for Speyside fans or to introduce someone to scotch.

Subtle smoke, notes of vanilla, toffee, and a nutty sherry character greet the senses. The taste mirrors this with a smooth, creamy texture, leading to a moderately long, drying conclusion.

I'm surprised by how enjoyable this is. Aberfeldy quality at nearly half the cost.

Very sweet, very smooth, extremely delicious and definitely worth the expense.
