Gun Fighter American Rye Double Cask

Nose: Reminiscent of cognac with sweet berries and floral notes, underscored by oak. Only a slight hint of rye pepper spice. Palate: A strong burn on the initial sip. The first taste is very sweet, again almost like cognac. It then develops into a rye white pepper spice with a blend of oak barrel notes. The finish lingers on the tongue with a touch of dried fruits.

The port flavor is dominant, completely overshadowing the finish (which is neither good nor bad, as I personally appreciate port). The rye spice upfront is pleasant. It could benefit from better balance, feeling somewhat muddled. Overall, I found it enjoyable, but I would consider other ryes first. Try this if you're seeking something unconventional.

I disliked the bottle and the flavor entirely. The price made it even worse! I didn't care for the unpleasant aroma or the taste. I could have given it lower marks, but I appreciated the bottle's design in relation to the taste. It's a very distinctive acquired taste. It's certainly an 'unusual' bourbon.

Spicy aroma and taste, nothing remarkable. This was a bottling I’d never encountered before so I decided to try it. Probably good for someone who enjoys something unique and with a significant amount of spice. Acceptable for the price (~$35) but I would not purchase it again.

The aroma is awful. It smells like the residue from a can of silly string. The taste is only marginally better. Please understand that the double barrel bourbon is one of my top favorites. Don't be misled.

Aroma is too strong, taste is too burning. Difficult to discern anything due to the aforementioned reasons.
