The aroma resembles watermelon Jolly Ranchers. The basil is virtually undetectable. If you search hard, you might catch a faint whiff of ethanol. Nevertheless, it's a quite pleasant, easygoing scent. The watermelon flavor dominates the palate, though the basil can be detected in the middle and towards the end, but it's very subtle. It's also surprisingly bitter in the finish. Not unpleasantly so, but given the Jolly Rancher Watermelon flavor that captures most of your attention, it was a bit unexpected. When mixed with strawberry lemonade, it added a great touch of watermelon and an herbal note that underscored everything. I'll update my review later today to include its taste with soda water and aromatic tonic. This is clearly intended for mixing rather than sipping neat at room temperature. I'd consider this one of the finest flavored Vodkas available, as it doesn't taste overly sugary or artificial, but it falls short compared to Ketel One's excellent infusions.
