February 4, 2025 - Nancy Remarkably chocolatey nose. A pale golden hue. Initial taste is smooth with chocolate notes, as if aged in barrels that previously held chocolate. This gives the whisky a distinctive flavor. An alcoholic second taste quells the surprising flavor of the first before a fine, peppery film settles on the tongue in the third taste. A slight, smooth industrial aftertaste lingers on the tongue. It leaves a peppery deposit that slightly heats the mouth. Not unpleasant, quite surprising. Lacks depth. A breakfast whisky.

This young whisky is definitely more approachable than its "Gouden Carolus Single Malt" counterpart. The sherry influence is noticeable on the nose and carries over into the taste, along with those fruity, oaky and winey notes. The finish is light and short. Overall, a simple yet delicious dram. "Good": 2.75 stars | Good, just fine.
A delightful dram with a sherry aroma. The initial taste is sweet vanilla and grape, finishing with oak.
Soft in flavor.
