The texture is good, though not exceptional. Finish: Short. Slightly sweet with no off-putting metallic or other unpleasant notes. This is a great value product that serves as my standard for measuring gin. While superior gins exist, if a gin isn't as good as this one, it's not worth drinking, plain and simple. It performs well as a mixer in any situation. The focus on juniper works effectively in a martini, and its subtle sweetness complements the bitterness of Indian tonic water, especially in a gin and tonic. It's widely available, reasonably priced, and has no discernible flaws. It's certainly not the finest gin out there – many others offer more complex, delicate, or robust profiles – but that doesn't diminish its quality or its utility as a versatile, dependable, and economical spirit for any bar. However, for crafting the ultimate Negroni, opt for a more expensive gin with a stronger juniper character, and for the perfect G&T, choose a pricier, more subtle gin with prominent floral and citrus notes. A rating of 2.75 stars might seem low, but in my system, it signifies being above average, and I can't find a better way to describe this gin than that. It started to feel excessive to keep purchasing premium gins costing over $35 plus tax and then mix them with tonic. So, I'm exploring the classic gins like Beefeater, Plymouth, Boodles, and others. This particular one is truly well-crafted, and there's a reason it has been produced this way for centuries. Its origin of distillation doesn't matter to me. When prepared as an extra-dry martini (chilled straight up), it truly shines with notes of juniper, citrus, and spice. As a gin and tonic, it loses some complexity and tastes predominantly of lemon, though not unpleasantly. It's ideal for a refreshing G&T rather than one for deep contemplation. For its value, it's an outstanding choice.

However, some, like Monkey 47, are expensive, while this common, budget-friendly bar staple is about a quarter of the price. It's not only perfectly suitable for a gin and tonic but also quite drinkable on its own as an everyday spirit. Furthermore, it can be enhanced with various additives and tinctures, such as Angostura bitters, to elevate its flavor profile. This is a quintessential London Dry Gin. I finally tried it and was not let down. It makes an excellent Gin and Tonic and a solid Martini. What more could you ask for from a $10 gin? It has a subtle juniper aroma and a pleasant finish. To me, it's one of the mildest, best-mixing Gins available today. The only improvement I'd suggest is offering a higher proof or Navy Strength version. I haven't tried a Vesper Martini yet but plan to. I still prefer Plymouth Navy Strength, Roku, and Drumshanbo Irish Gin, but this gin is a reliable choice. Enjoy.
