About this bottle
Glenmorangie's Grand Vintage 1998 is part of The Bond House No. 1 Collection, named after the distillery's largest 19th-century bonded warehouse. The single malt was distilled in 1998, the same year Dr. Bill Lumsden became Director of Whisky Creation. Lumsden incorporated new charred oak for finishing and with new-make spirit, a first for Glenmorangie. The whisky also includes first-fill bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. It was available in the US from August 2022.

Tasted the Grand Vintage 1996, 1997 and 1998 side by side. Overall, the 1996 was better in terms of balance, flavor integration, and taste. The 1997 had the most unique palate, with the red wine cask maturation really evident. And the 1998 was the easiest to drink.
