About this bottle
Glenmorangie Grand Vintage 1996 is the sixth release in The Bond House No. 1 Collection, named after the brand's largest 19th-century bonded warehouses. This single malt is exclusively matured in custom casks made from hand-selected American white oak from Missouri's Ozark Mountains. After seasoning with bourbon and air-drying, they were filled with Glenmorangie spirit distilled in 1996 and aged for 23 years. The Glenmorangie Astar was also created using these casks.

While the '91 version aligns more with my usual preferences with its plum and chocolate palate, this one is excellent with a floral and citrus nose, and I also detect some brininess. Interesting fudge on the palate and it has a medium finish.
A rather vibrant Scotch.
