Glenmorangie's The Altus, meaning "high" in Latin, is now part of the brand's core range, alongside The Original 12 Year and The Infinita 18 Year. Director of Whisky Creation Dr. Bill Lumsden utilized bourbon casks that were specially toasted and charred, with a portion of the whisky undergoing a finishing period in Malmsey Madeira casks, referencing the brand’s 1995 Madeira Wood Finish, which was the first single malt globally to be finished in Madeira. The Altus, bottled at 43% ABV, debuted in August 2025. (SRP $675)

A blend of tropical fruit, berries, and cream is presented. On the nose: A medley of strawberries and cream, peaches, blackberries, mangoes, coconut cream, toffee, apricots, Dole Whips, and passion fruit. The palate and finish offer notes of honey, peaches, passion fruit, figs, mangoes, raspberries, cherry cola, and blackberries.
