A 10-year, 66.6% ABV Glenlivet from Signatory Vintage, bottled in 2017 for a German retailer. Dubbed "The Number of the Beast" due to its high proof, this expression was matured in first-fill sherry casks. It has a natural chestnut color. On the nose, it's amazing, dominated by coffee notes. Hints of cherries, red fruits, maple syrup, pencils, and thick vanilla are present. Chocolate powder, dried bananas, rum, molasses, glazed pork, and chili are also detected. After the first sip, coffee, lemon, and cinnamon emerge. It's powerful and incredible. On the palate, it's strong, robust, and incredible. Flavors of cherries, figs, dried fruits, and BBQ sauce come through, along with fried chicken wings. A second sip reveals milk chocolate, vanilla, and marshmallows. The third sip is all about chocolate fudge. An immense finish with chili, fireworks, and gunpowder. The aftertaste is eternal, with notes of sulfur, pepper, cinnamon, and BBQ sauce. Overall, this is a massive, brutal dram. With only 316 bottles produced, finding another will be difficult. An incredible sherry bomb that doesn't feel like 66.6% ABV, closer to 55%. My score is a perfect 100 out of 100. Cheers.
