Nose: yellow fruits (fresh pears and perhaps apples), very citrusy, mild peppery notes, pineapple, maple syrup, caramel, a bit of coconut, and lots of vanilla. A very fruity and sweet aroma. Palate: ginger spiciness, woody notes, sweetness, fruity (yellow fruits), honey, and vanilla. Good bitterness from the barrel tannins, along with moderate sweetness. The flavor is balanced. Finish: medium to long, with significant spiciness, sweetness, and bitterness. The alcohol warmth is also present but not unpleasant. Overall impressions: A flavorful, intense, and robust whisky. The fruity characteristics from the barrels that previously held bourbon are quite evident in both the aroma and flavor. Since it's non-chill filtered, which gives this whisky good oiliness, the American oak flavors are further highlighted. This whisky is readily available in any duty-free shop at international airports or online stores that import whiskies from countries bordering Brazil. I recommend enjoying it neat, but a few drops of water or a large ice sphere can mellow it for palates less accustomed to high alcohol content.

This 16-year-old NADURRA, pale gold with long legs, was initially peculiar. The cask strength (around 63.3%) delivered a brutal alcoholic punch. However, after allowing it to breathe, it revealed delightful hints of honey and butterscotch, with subtle notes of vanilla and light tropical fruits, surprisingly delicate given the powerful alcohol. The palate was refined and complex for its age, showcasing sublime, well-integrated oak, sweet honey, hints of barely, candied citrus, and an odd custard cream biscuit flavor. The finish was pleasant, not prolonged, with lingering warmth, a peppery touch, and sweet caramel. I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle and would happily buy another, as I am already a fan of NADURRA.
