Glengoyne 20 Year Old 1999 Single Cask (Master of Malt) / 30ml sample / 50.5% ABV Smell: Moderately volatile, with notes of dried figs, cherries, honey, leather, walnuts, vanilla, and caramel. Taste: Feels oily, with orange jam, dark chocolate, blackcurrants, cloves, and almonds, finishing with a notable peppery sensation and significant tannins. Aftertaste: Hints of oak, apricots, dried plums, spice, bitterness, cocoa, and dark chocolate. Rating: 89/100 This single cask, likely from an unstated Sherry barrel, possibly a second-fill at most given its color and the limited influence of strong Sherry cask character on the spirit. It's a refined, full-bodied whisky that beautifully balances the sweetness of Sherry with the qualities of an outstanding distillate, justifying my high score. #Glengoyne, #SingleCask, #SherryMatured, #WhiskyLovers, #ScotchWhisky, #MasterOfMolt
