Glenfiddich 12 Year Our Original Twelve

Nose: Vanilla, orchard fruit, lemon, a touch of floral honey, and buttery grain. A faint alcoholic sting is present when undiluted, but it fades with air and even faster with a splash of water. This bottling's aroma strikes me as having a bit more malt character than I recall from before. Palate: The initial taste is sweet, smooth, and carries notes of apples and pears. Sweet malt emerges during development, alongside a whisper of toasted wood. The mouthfeel is quite pleasing—creamy, a little slick, and rich. Similar to the aroma, this spirit handles a bit of water well, despite its 40% ABV. Its slickness is what allows it to remain robust when diluted. Finish: Brief. Smooth and subtly fruity, with pear and a trace of spearmint lingering. My last evaluation of Glenfiddich 12 was eight years ago, and this is the first bottle I've opened since then (it was a present). The packaging is different, so I'm submitting this under the updated listing, but based on my recollection and previous notes, this appears to be the same 12-year-old Glenfiddich that has been produced for ages. It's a fantastic, adaptable spirit that needs no justification. Those who dislike this expression simply fail to appreciate it. Honestly, if forced to pick a single malt for a deserted island, this would likely be it. I genuinely believe that sticking to just one high-end whisky continuously would eventually become dull, but I could drink Glenfiddich 12 consistently every day for the remainder of my life without growing weary of it. I'm raising my prior score by one point. This is, plainly put, quality whisky offered at a fair price and is easily found everywhere. Quality: 83/100 (3.5 stars)

Nose - Fresh mint, vanilla extract, and orchard fruit. There's a slight smokiness in the background with a hint of peach pit. Palate - The taste is decently rich and buttery. The fruit from the nose turns a bit citrusy yet creamy, like lemon curd. The vanilla still comes through with a little bit of barnyard hay. Finish is shorter and not overpowering. I get a bit of honey candy, but then there's a touch of bitterness and sulfur at the end. Not terribly off-putting, but it could be better. Overall - This could be a daily drinker for a single malt fan. It has many nice aspects - mouthfeel, vibrant fruit, honey - but then becomes disjointed at the end, similar to a young bourbon. I like the mouthfeel and the fruitiness, but I don't care for the sulfur and bitterness at the end. To me, it's just another Scotch. A good Scotch, definitely not bad... Nothing to be amazed by, but certainly nothing to dismiss.

Nose: Fruity with a touch of pear, well-rounded. TASTE: Sweet, fruity, butterscotch, and oak. FINISH: Medium-long and smooth with a comforting, warm finish. I like to keep a bottle with a bit of this in it handy so anyone can just pour a little anytime during the day😊.

From sniffing to tasting, it’s subtly sweet with a good blend of oak, vanilla malt, and a touch of spice. Genuine craftsmanship from the Original Twelve.

Did not enjoy the taste or the body. My initial thought was "this is Jameson" but at a higher price point. Not a fan.
