Representing Speyside: Dufftown: Fiddich & Dullan rivers Nose: Undiluted: Honey, caramel, sherry, vanilla. Pepper. Citrus. Raisins. The sweet honey from the sherry is the most prominent. After the initial taste, more orange emerged, similar to orange candy. With water: Orange is dominant with honey sweetness. Sherry is in the background. Body: Undiluted: Thin and light. With water: Still thin and light. Palate: Undiluted: Sweetness from the oak with faint caramel and a touch of smoke, which is delightful. With water: Pepper stands out and caramel comes to the forefront. Finish: Undiluted: I was surprised by its medium length and a lingering smokiness, which I really appreciate with scotch. It's like a sweet, smoky, caramelly orange. With water: No change with water, but more caramel, orange sweetness, and a burnt oakiness. Wonderful. Note: A friend provided me with a sample of 1.5-2 oz. The first taste was nice. It was a bit distant and smoky, which I liked, and it opened up to sweetness. This was an intriguing experience that kept developing with each sip. The flavors swirled around and were well-rounded, making it very pleasant.

Number 8 on my Glenfiddich exploration. A fantastic spirit, one of those you want to savor in your mouth. Abundant vanilla and honey. Now, this is an extremely costly whisky at $350 USD. I really should rate it lower due to the price, but it's superior to that. An excellent way to conclude the tasting session.

I'm not normally one for Glenfiddich, as I think they lean too sweet, but this is still a pleasant whiskey. The cost, though, is really steep. In my view, many other whiskies offer a superior experience for a fifth of the price.

Isla Painter 4.3

Woody and intricate, at last a Glenfiddich with an age statement that tastes like authentic scotch, and it's 43% ABV. However, considering the cost, it doesn't quite justify the price. 4.25/5

I found the Glenfiddich 12 and 18 to be quite one-dimensional, but this was certainly several levels better, similar to the Madeira cask. Rich and elegant.

Tried at a tasting. Nice and spicy, rich and delicious. Very pricey at $500+, sampled it for a measly $4 token ah thankyou
