You likely haven't encountered this before, but you need to try it now. I discovered it in Russia, at a St. Petersburg restaurant called "the tsar," which is also highly recommended. This is a remarkably beautiful Glenfiddich, known as the Cask of Dreams, a Russian cask from 2012. It's now among my top 3 or 4 whiskies ever. Bottled at 48.8% ABV with a light gold hue. The aroma offers notes of salt, raisins, dates, blackberry marmalade, vanilla cake, and a subtle smokiness. The palate is simply wonderful, with cherry candy, red fruits, a gentle warmth, tobacco, and allspice, all harmoniously balanced. It concludes with a long, sweet finish reminiscent of crème brûlée and ash. It has a medium body and is truly a delicacy. Scoring 97 out of 100, this is the most captivating and breathtaking whisky I've had in a long time. Cheers!
