Score: 8/10 - It's pleasant, but I favor whiskies with more pronounced character (like Laphroaig). Overall Impressions: Bitter, mellowed fruity notes. It's very smooth, but I prefer more character. This would serve as an excellent introduction for a cognac enthusiast, mirroring the qualities of high-end XO cognac. It's the whisky equivalent of a $300 cognac. Would I purchase it again? It's intriguing, and I would certainly keep this style on hand. Edit: This is a wonderful neat sipper, especially for the price.

This one has a powerfully fruity aroma. Smells of slightly old raspberries mixed in with a little citrus zest. The taste carries with it sweet honey and has a bit of a malty mouthfeel that, when mixed with the honey, reminds me of honey nut cheerios a bit. As the taste goes down and blossoms into the finish you catch something just a bit tannic and slightly musty, like an old leather jacket. When the taste is long done, there's a wisp of peat smoke that dances off the tip of your tongue, almost unnoticeable. I had to take a second drink to confirm its presence. This is just fine for what is essentially a wine cask selection. It isn't too fruit forward on the taste, despite what the aroma tells you.

I appreciate the aroma of this bottle. To me, it's rich and fruity. I can detect the influence of Sherry casks. The taste is gentle, with a sweetness akin to honey. I also noticed some mild baking spices, including nutmeg. At the finish, I experienced notes of black tea. However, it wasn't harsh; the honeyed sweetness persisted, creating a well-rounded conclusion. The finish lasted longer than anticipated. I liked the GF15. I'm a fan of the GF branding. The bottle's design is excellent. It's a bit pricey, costing 120 CAD in my area. All in all, it's a balanced whisky from beginning to end. 7.75/10
