Glenfarclas 21 years old cask strength (TWE exclusive bottling)

Picture finding a very scarce bottle of Glenfarclas 21 Year Old at a bar, and upon closer inspection, discovering it's the Cask Strength exclusive version, with the chance to savor a dram without purchasing the whole bottle. It simply doesn't get any better than that. This 21-year-old special release was bottled at 54.2% ABV and was exclusively offered for The Whisky Exchange retail shop. It features an attractive "art deco" 3D illuminated label that stood out among other ornate bottles. On the nose, it begins with lemon peel; rich ham, hazelnut; wood shavings. After 3 minutes, the typical red apple notes from Glenfarclas emerged. Following a sip, the aroma presented toffee and caramel; after a couple of minutes, the toffee became overwhelming. On the palate, it's a magnificent drink. Apple peel. The flavor is remarkable. Apple juice. A classic Glenfarclas spirit. The spice level escalated rapidly and intensely. A cinnamon explosion. The finish was the highlight. Hay; wood shavings, strips of oak, a touch of heat. This embodies the quintessential Glenfarclas; it's the soul of this distillery. When one thinks of "Farclas," this precise profile comes to mind. Burnt oak, scorched grass. Exceptionally long. Overall, this is unquestionably the finest Glenfarclas I've ever experienced. The higher ABV has provided a potent flavor delivery. My rating for it is 93 out of 100, and I suspect I might be slightly underscoring it; it merits more. A beautiful decanter, however.

Medicinal, dry herbs, cherry lozenge, spicy, with a brief, fizzy finish like pop rocks.
