His father was a powerful Jedi, called Anakin Skywalker, until one day a Dark Lord of the Sith, called Darth Vader, betrayed and murdered him. Hello companions, this is my second review of a whisky from the well-known unofficial Glendronach Star Wars collection, this time, The "Luke Skywalker". Naturally, this is one of only 3000 bottles produced, exclusively for the Danish Whisky Retailers store. Unofficially named "Luke Skywalker" due to the color of the label and packaging, this one has been aged for 10 years in Pedro Ximenez casks and bottled at 48% ABV. On the nose, it's amazing. Hazelnut, chocolate bar, wood shavings, grass, and coffee beans. After a few minutes of aeration, it presented notes of dates and raisins. Red fruits and cocoa butter. It has an almond-like quality, similar to a Snickers bar. On the palate, it's surprisingly very dry. Chocolate, it's so woody it feels like licking a ping pong table. Hazelnut; it really dries out the mouth. Like a chocolate crunch bar. Lingering taste is all about Oloroso sherry, prunes, and red fruits. Still very dry and wine-like. Overall, I've only written 2 of the 3 reviews for the Glendronach Starwars I've sampled, and my favorite so far is the one I'll be reviewing next, the Darth Vader. A decent dram, incredibly collectible, my rating for this very winey and dry whisky is 85 out of 100.
